This painting hangs above my bed. To me, it perfectly captures the golden light of the ‘magic hour’. I have had a lot of fun showing Sam’s amazing oil painting to friends. Everyone has raved about it – including several prominent pdx collectors whose taste I admire, and a recent fine arts grad who estimated its market value at 3-5X what I paid for it. Of course, it’s nice this was unequivocably a great investment, though I don’t anticipate ever parting with ‘Solstice’ since it makes me happy every day. I feel genuinely lucky I wandered into ‘Open Studio’ and became acquainted with Sam and his transplendent art.
